yup....it is a refurb. The label states that too. It's the reason I do not get Seagate drives any more, not even for my clients.

To be fair, those would be drives sent by them, not new from Newegg.

I bought the original drive from New Egg as a brand new drive. When I did the RMA through Seagate, they sent me refurbs. It must be their policy now. I had to RMA through Seagate because it was past New Eggs 30 day return policy
Seagate was very good about giving me an RMA, and they did a cross ship too, they even covered the ship costs on the second and third drive,
Edit: Seagate must be sitting on a ton of these demonic & annoying loud room shaking drives, and they are eager to dump them on anybody.
