Motherboard suddenly won't detect installed RAM

did you check your video card too?

Yeah, took it out completely.

Update: Did a CMOS reset. Same results.
I finally convinced a friend to let me inside his PC, and my ram is working fine. So unless there are any other practical solutions it looks like a new mobo for me. Time to decide what to get.
 
Motherboard is fried, or if you overclocked your CPU any, I would also suspect the CPU's memory controller is fried. Have a board you can test the CPU in? The RAM being different could have done the controller in for IMO
 
Also....check your power supply to be sure it didn't fry your board. It would be a waste to get a new board and see it get damaged from a bad power supply
