You can't really compare two different brand of processors and say which one is best. To find more about which one suits you, do a simple search in T.F like "amd vs intel" or something like that...

That is what I said earlier, there is no point in comparing amd and intel processors.
AMD performs better in some areas like gaming , where intel is more suited for executing hardcore applications. Athlon may outrun intel's in quite a few areas and intel may outrun athlon's in some fields.

But the 2600 will out perform the 2.6ghz intel. Look into one of the many intel vs. amd threads, there was one on the hardware forum recently that was quite long.

there's more than one version. a 400mhz FSB P4 2.6Ghz (version B?) performs on par with an xp2600, but the 800Mhz version (ver. C?) would beat it.
