i was just wondering about the speed (if pc 3200 is faster than pc 2700, cuz if so, ima hafta buy some pc3200 when i buy that board, lol) but what that looks like to me is that pc 3200/2700 is the same speed (maybe 400mhz ddr?)and pc 2100/1600 is the same speed (333mhz ddr?) just curious about the real ##

PC4000 = 500mhz = DDR500 = 4.0Gb/s Single Channel Bandwidth
PC3700 = 466mhz = DDR466 = 3.7Gb/s Single Channel Bandwidth
PC3500 = 433mhz = DDR433 = 3.5Gb/s Single Channel Bandwidth
PC3200 = 400mhz = DDR400 = 3.2Gb/s Single Channel Bandwidth
PC2700 = 333mhz = DDR333 = 2.7Gb/s Single Channel Bandwidth
PC2100 = 266mhz = DDR266 = 2.1Gb/s Single Channel Bandwidth
PC1600 = 200mhz = DDR200 = 1.6Gb/s Single Channel Bandwidth

With DDR the PCxxxx ratings indicate maximum bandwidth in
megabytes per second, as opposed to clock frequency. Now
with dual Channel setup bandwith almost doubles.
I hope this helps you understand the ratings a little better.

have you heard of RDRAM? (PC800/1066)

PC800 = 800 MHZ
PC1066 = 1066 MHZ

yea and rdram might just crap out eventually and go the way of the dinosaurs while ddr will remain, but nothin can beat dual channel ddr... (in coolness of the name of course)

Thank you guys for answering.
Do any of you know a motherboard for P4, pin 478, ATX, 800 MHZ FSB, that suports RD RAM and AGP 8x?
I know the intel D850MV and D850MV2 both support RD RAM.
Thx

i have never installed a new P4 mobo, do you think it will come with the newest ver of bios on it? if not how would i go about installing a new one? will it come with one at all?
