Externally upgrade a laptop.

Hi.

I just made a major downgrade decision from a Razer Laptop to a Windows 8.1 ASUS. Disappointed, I did everything I can to upgrade speed by clearing my temp files, virtual RAM, cache, et cetera.

I still think my performance is unworthy (mainly because I only have 4 gb of ram).

My two questions are what do I buy to make my RAM to 16 gb, and does touch screen affect gaming.

Please help.

Post the model of the laptop so we know what RAM the laptop takes.

No, touch screens shouldn't affect gaming.

I'd be willing to bet your Asus laptop probably has a much weaker graphics card than the Razer.
