Think it would use significant power? I have a cx 500 which is just about good enough for my set up now.
 
2500k to say a 4960k, sure. That's a 'decent' jump. 2500k to 3770k not so much unless you absolutely need HT or you're getting the CPU dirt cheap. Like 50 bucks.
 
Trouble is I'd have to buy a new mobo if I got anything better than 3770k. Starts getting expensive after that!

To be sure of it give me the motherboard name and model number and we'll check to be sure.
