I have a question my battery has burn out on my laptop. I am wondering if its safe to run it with a/c cord. Without the battery in?.

Thanks in advanced.

Yes, but there isn't any real advantage besides keeping it away from heat.

Leaving your laptop plugged in with the battery in doesn't kill the battery - the AC adapter doesn't continually pump juice into the battery while it's plugged in.

Heat is what kills batteries quickly, and hot laptops will kill batteries quickly.

Time is also another factor. These batteries are designed for a number of discharges and charges. After it's reached it's limit (usually around 2-3 yrs under normal use) they fail to hold a charge and must be replaced

Yeah, time is also a factor. As soon as Li-Ion batteries leave the factory, they start to loose life (though much more slowly than what heat does to them).
