Video editing

I currently have a 128MB X16 ATI RADEON X30 video card in my computer and I plan to do some movie editing. That's basically what I got this computer for and I was wondering if this card will do the trick or if I'll have to get a better one if I want a smooth running system (I want to edit footage from a digital camcorder).

I have enough ram and hard drive space but I'm still curious about the video card. Thanks.

the x300 is simmilar to my radeon 9600SE. You can do editing with any card, it would just be slow. If you use 3D software like MAYA for editing like the dudes in MATRIX, then it would be pretty slow, but should to the trick cuz I do MAYA animation too and it goes pretty smooth. Just give it a try and if it is way to slow upgrade ur pc. Just post here and we'll help u decide what to upgrade.
