installing windows 8 on ssd

Hey

I am building a pc hopefully getting the components tomorrow.

I currently have a hdd with my windows 8.1 installed in it and i will be using the hdd in my new system but in my new build i want to install windows 8 on the ssd. Heres the problem i want to format and remove windows from my hdd but there are some files that i want to keep. i don't have any external hard drives to save the files so how do i install windows on the ssd and keep the files i want on my hdd and delete the rest windows and everything else. how do i go on about this?

Disconnect HDD
Connect SSD
Install Windows to SSD
Re-connect HDD
Boot into Windows from the SSD
Copy files from the HDD -> SSD
Format HDD once you've made sure you've transferred all the files you needed.

go out a buy a thumb/flash/usb drive to keep your data on? Those drives are quite cheap by today's standards
