So I have a newish motherboard (about a year) it's msi with an i7 4770k. I have old memory that shouldn't be in there really. It's like 2 different kinds that aren't the same speeds or types. So I need help with memory. I also have an asus gtx 670 that i'd like to upgrade from. And i'd like a monitor but I don't know if a new gtx 970 would be able to take advantage of a 144 hz monitor. Any help with any of this would be greatly appreciated. I'd like to order the monitor tonight since it's really good deals going on.

EDIT: I'd also like to add that I'm wondering if a 970 is an upgrade from my asus gtx 670

Your RAM is most likely fine. If you have 8GB don't worry about it.

Any GPU can take advantage of a 144Hz monitor.

Yes a 970 is a significant upgrade from a 670.

I thought a gpu had to perform with the 144+fps to make that monitor worth it.

EDIT
Thank you very much. I went to give you a thanks but it said you're the last person i've thanked. Does it really matter which 970 I get? I was looking at the zoltac one read a bunch of reviews and they seem pretty mixed on it.
