Upgrade RAM

Hello everybody!
I have a Compaq Evo N800v laptop. It's using DDR SODIMM PC2100 (266MHz) RAM. Because of the price listed in http://www.vtec.co.uk/product/196_598.asp (which is £79.22 for 1GB), I wonder if my laptop can use DDR SODIMM PC2700 (333MHz). Well, in my laptop's manual, they don't say anything about whether it can use DDR SODIMM PC2700 or not. Anyone know anything about this would be appreciated.

usually it has to be the same or else they conflict but I'm not sure in this case so maybe somebody can back me up!

Sorry, I didn't say clearly. My laptop only supports 1GB maximum so if it can run properly with the 333 MHz stick, I will take my old 256MB 266MHz stick out and buy this one.

I think It will. If your laptop's MOBO is new enough to supprot up to 1GB, then it should support 266MHZ ram
