Video Card upgrade question.

Thinking about what i want/need for x-mas this year all i can think of is a new video card. I currently have a AMD Radeon HD 6870, its quite old and i feel its the only thing holding me back from enjoying the upcoming games like Farcry and Dragon Age at high to max settings. I would say my budget is $200-$250. I know the new 8gb cards are coming out soon and this may effect the market on the cards i am after, should I wait? Is Black Friday or Cyber Monday still worth waiting for? Just looking for some informed direction so i my best bang for buck.

Depends heavily on the machine it's going in. The best GPU for your budget would be the GTX 760, but if you could get another 100 bucks the 970 is the best bang for buck card right now.
