First of all, hello!

Thankyou for checking out this post it's really appreciated. I am a student currently doing games design/animation/3D modelling etc. I need to get a desktop in order to do my college work at home but I am a complete idiot :stare: (or just really scared I'm going to get the wrong things) when it comes to getting a custom desktop (or any kind of desktop really!).

I need it to be able to run 3DS Max and other quite resource heavy programs seamlessly. The problem being, due to being a student, I have quite a limited budget. I need advice on everything, from the motherboard to fan controllers and everything.

I can get this for £520.

AMD FX-4300 3.8Ghz Quad Core Processor, 8GB DDR III 1600mhz Ram, 1TB SATA III Hard Drive, DVD+/- Rewriter SATA, Geforce GT630 2GB Graphics Card, Card Reader, Mini Tower Case , 8 x USB 2 Connectors , Windows 7 or 8 Home Premium 64 bit. Is this any good? It's just it fits within my price range.

I need answers ASAP really!
Thankyou again for checking out my post!

Will it work? Yes. Seamlessly? Uh, no. Not enough budget for that. You'll be waiting for things to finish with that slow CPU.

I went onto PCSpecialist.co.uk and created one but the total came to around £700...
But is it worth the extra £200?

About 5x faster for productivity and that's being generous. So short answer, yes. Make sure your copy of 3DS can handle OpenCL acceleration from the HD integrated graphics. It'll help as well.

Is this any better for a PC to run it?

Intel Core I5-4670 3Ghz, 8GB DDR III 1600mhz Ram, 1TB SATA III Hard Drive, DVD+/- Rewriter, Geforce Nvidia GT630 2GB Graphics Card, Card Reader, Midi Tower Case, 8 x USB 2 Connectors, Windows 7 or 8 Home Premium 64 bit
