Hi I have a HP Pavilion G6 laptop with Windows 7
A few days ago the PC crashed when I Restarted I was not able to get on the Internet
I checked it and found the Wireless adapter is not in Networking and Sharing only the Ethernet adapter
I also checked Device Manger and again no wireless
The Ethernet works I was able to get on the Internet and I fully updated Windows but still no sigh of a Wireless adapter
I also tried taping F12 but it seems to do nothing.
Thank You

Most commonly overlooked: Make sure your wireless switch is on.

When you say "no wireless" when in Device Manager, you mean it doesn't recognize any network device other than your ethernet?

Checked BIOS to see if it somehow got disabled there maybe?

If you go in device settings you should be able to find your wifi network adapter. Find out what it's called and download and install its latest driver from the manufacturer website.

Edit: I just noticed you couldn't find it in device settings... sigh

correct, only ethernet and no yellow exclamation points.

I believe the wireless switch is tapping F12 key and it does nothing

I checked BIOS and could not find anything about wireless.
is there another term for Wireless in the BIOS?

Is it one where you have to hold Fn while pressing F12? I've also seen weird issues with HP's, where you need to make sure the keyboard drivers/software from their site are installed before the hotkeys will work properly.

Not usually.

I reinstalled the video, keyboard, and wireless drivers and still
the wireless does not show up in Device Manager :(

What about any software utilities provided by HP?

You could try removing the wireless card and reinserting it to see if it registers it.

If you have another laptop, you could even try swapping the wifi cards (if compatible).

Does the F12 key with the wireless light up to show it's enabled?
Yes
The F12 key light is Amber

According to HP this means" All wireless Devices are off "

The light on F12 should be white when a wireless device is on

And the light doesn't change when you try to switch it back on? It just stays amber?
