Overheating

Nope. I've been using AS5 since I bought 1 small tube and a large tube years ago. There is only a couple C difference between most all major brand TIMs.

AS5 is more expensive though :p (at least last time I looked). Still using the TIM that I've gotten with coolers from a couple years ago though, so haven't had to pay for any in a while.

Small tube of AS5 is only a dollar more. MX-2 is the same price for a small tube, or for a dollar more than that a large tube of MX-4 can be had which from what I hear is a good 2-5c better than AS5.

I've never had AS5 dry out on me even on boards that I've kept in storage for months at a time. I've had stock paste literally crumble off when I took a heatsink off before though on both CPU and GPUs.

What kind of cooler was on top of it? Proper pressure and proper surface bow should keep it fairly sealed where the only hard bits should be a fine line on the edge.
