Hello! Since this is my first time building a computer, I might need some help and advice on the subject. I'm attempting to build a gaming rig for a budget around $600-$750. I've been doing research for some time, and this is the AMD build I've come up with so far:

CPU-AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz 6-Core Processor
AMD FX-6300 Vishera 6-Core 3.5GHz (4.1GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ 95W Desktop Processor FD6300WMHKBOX - Newegg.com
Motherboard-Asus M5A97 LE R2.0 ATX AM3+ Motherboard
ASUS M5A97 LE R2.0 AM3+ AMD 970 + SB950 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard with UEFI BIOS - Newegg.com
Memory-Kingston Fury Black Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
HyperX Fury Black Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model HX316C10FBK2/8 - Newegg.com
Storage-Western Digital Caviar Blue 500GB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
Western Digital WD Blue WD5000AAKX 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive - Newegg.com
Video Card-Sapphire Radeon R9 270 2GB Dual-X Video Card
SAPPHIRE DUAL-X 100365L Radeon R9 270 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 Video Card With BOOST & OC - Newegg.com
Case-Rosewill CHALLENGER ATX Mid Tower Case
Rosewill CHALLENGER Black Gaming ATX Mid Tower Computer Case - Newegg.com
Power Supply-EVGA 500W 80+ Certified ATX Power Supply
EVGA 100-W1-500-KR 500W ATX12V / EPS12V 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC 3 Year Warranty Power Supply Intel 4th Gen CPU Ready - Newegg.com
OS-Microsoft Windows 8.1 (OEM) (64-bit)

Is this a good starting build? Any advice and feedback would be greatly appreciated!

I plan on playing a wide array of games, to more demanding cross-platform titles, to less demanding MOBAs, top-down strategy games, etc; on medium to high settings. What power supply would you recommend?

Lol that doesn't really answer my question, per se. Some titles to give me a more accurate judgement of CPU usage.

Minimum Corsair CX500 or Seasonic S1211 520w. That eVGA 500 seems appealing, but as I just mentioned in the bought thread in OT, that isn't the same as the 500B which got positive ratings from Johnny Guru. It's a much cheaper unit comparable to that of Raidmax units or Apevia.

Thanks a ton for the advice, PP Mguire! But other than the PSU, is everything else in the build good to go?
