Hello all, I have an old(ish) Dell Dimension 4500. It used to my grandfather's, and I think it was dropped or something because I noticed that on the top of the tower, to the back, the left dark side of the case is splitting off. I was wondering how I would fix this. I can post pictures later if I didn't explain well enough, because it's hard to explain what's wrong with it.

Took some pictures of the issue.

It doesn't look like it'll impair usage, do you just want to fix it for aesthetic purposes?

Pretty much, since I plan on selling it and I don't think anyone would want that on a case, but also because I pick it up a lot to open it, bring it to other rooms, etc., and don't want that to be there because it feels like it's going to snap apart in my hands. There's another important reason that I can't seem to remember now though, maybe I'll remember later.

That plastic is connected to the metal frame and it might just be that the metal frame is bent out of place some where...as to the reason the halves do not meet up and snap in together.
Paying close attention to how the two halves meet up, look for something out of place that can be man-handled back to the proper shape.

Also, at the front where the hinge is at, check to be sure no wires from inside the case are getting pinched in that area too, it will prevent the case from fully closing and locking shut
