Hello, if someone could help by giving a step by step to resetting a HP compaq dx2250 microtower running windows Dp professional to factory settings that would be great I used the recovery manager and just got stuck on a screen saying "please wait while windows prepares to start" I have I closed an image. I have also read the HP manual from their help centre which provided no help as it only told me what I already knew.... Thanks!

Well you can either use the recovery discs supplied by HP (or if you don't have any, order them), try using the built-in recovery partition again (if that's indeed what you were using), or find an XP disc or find an XP Professional SP3 OEM ISO to download / burn to a CD (for these options you need to make sure your Windows key on the license sticker on your PC is still readable...going this route will also mean you will have to reinstall most of your drivers manually).
