In a laptop most all 2.5" drives that are large are actually 5400RPM, and it saves on battery life too. SSD performance is irrelevant as long as IOPS are high.
Yea its direct purpose is for 120GB and 1TB dedicated in a single bay for a laptop. Not like the cache drives that Seagate offers. THose are pretty crap tbh.
thanks everyone. i learned some new things here. I think i'ma go with the dual drive based on ya'lls recommendations; one bay, low power, lots of space.
it looks like amazon has one on sale for 200 w FS. I think Ima try to hold out until i fill my current drive.
