Building new rig

Yeah that's what I wanna do.. Don't wanna spend 300 bucks on a pre built one if I could build one cheaper and keep the bloat off.

If you buy refurb then there is no bloat, just the OS. Some of them come pre-installed but many require you to install from the media that comes with it.

If you need to buy an OS for this machine then it's going to be pretty hard to compete with that Dell. If not I got this.

Newegg.com - Intel Pentium G3220 Haswell 3.0GHz LGA 1150 54W Dual-Core Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics BX80646G3220
Newegg.com - ASRock H81M-ITX LGA 1150 Intel H81 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Mini ITX Intel Motherboard
Newegg.com - Team Elite Plus 4GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Desktop Memory Model TPD34G1333C901
SeaSonic SS-300SFD 300W SFX12V v3.1 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Power Supply - Newegg.com
Newegg.com - SilverStone Sugo Series SG05BB-LITE Black SECC / Plastic Mini-ITX Desktop Computer Case with 2 x USB3.0 ports (Black)

Didn't add 8GB because a media box doesn't need it, same goes for 1600 speed. You can always add another 4 or 8GB stick later to increase RAM if desired.

Instead of going for a non expandable slim itx setup with a power brick I went the case/PSU router in case you need extra GPU horsepower for 4k playback, again if desired.

Left room for possible BD as well.
