Which is better for what? Which is better for running games effictively on current and future games?

i think it really depends. for doom 3, the 6600 gt . but for half life 2 , the 9800 pro.

the 6600gt has more advanced technology, like the new pixel shaders and all that nifty stuff.

But it is a known fact that the radeon 9800 pro is the king of the mid class vid cards. so i'm not sure,

it's so hard to choose which is better.

hmm.. after searching google, I think the 6600 gt is the way to go because it has "potential". You can get dual 6600 gt and whoop every solo card's heiny.

also, i heard the 6600gt is similiar to the 6800 so i guess it's good.

Thanks for replying.

However I need some more input from others because I want to pick between one of those video cards for my new computer.

And plus, I think 6600 GT's price dropped recently. It was 310 in canadian now its 250. (Just changed today)

6800Gt ;) nah j/k, yeah i'd go with 6600 GT, from what i've read it has good specs and doesnt cost and arm and a leg.

If your system can handle it, the NVIDIA card will be better due to the PCI-Express. Plus it's got the newest shader software from NVIDIA and faster RAM.
