That's great, So happy you got it working, Perhaps there was a contact NOT contacting and taking the ram in and out may have made a better contact for them, Like everything else electric contacts get dirty and have to be cleaned off if any corrosion gets in there and at the low volts in these computers it won't take much to give a bad contact but hopefully it continues to work, As for windows just booting up after changing the MB you got lucky. That doesn't happen too often.

Yeah I was very suprised I didnt have to reinstall. I also only just realised that I still had to reactivate windows, but I just typed in the code on my case and it worked fine. Not sure why, it goes against what is on their site where they state a new mb is considered a new machine, but Im not conplaining!
