6600gt (pci express) or 6800 (agp standard)

Which PC is better?

Two PC's:

1) socket 754 motherboard, AMD 64 3000 with, a 6800 agpgraphics card

2)a pci-express 939 motherboard, AMD 64 3000, with a 6600 GT pci express graphics card

Its my first time build, and both these pc's come to around the same price, so which one would be my best bet? Main use for gaming, and the usual internet surfing, word processing, and maybe some light photoshop.

If your going to be gaming the 6800 will most definity out perform the 6600. BTW pci-x is just a term to help advertise those products. It's hardly faster than agp if that.

I would highly recommend the socket 939. The 6800 will be better than the 6600GT. As far as AGP and PCIe, there is really no difference at all right now.

go with the board that uses pci-e..

get the 6600 and use it for a year...then upgrade to a newer pci-e

Youll be able to play anything with the 6800, and with todays games you dont need PCI xpress. Get AGP, as PCI-E isn't wort the extra bucks and 8x will be fine for a long time.
