The next thing I would get is an SSD. I wouldn't get a 1080p monitor until you can afford to get a better GPU at the same time.

Roger that. I've got an SSD and GPU on my list, but what would you recommend? I've got the EVGA SC GeForce GTX 760 2GB on the list right now. Not sure about SSDs though as I've never used one before.

Depends on how much your budget is. A good place to start would be a Samsung 840pro 120GB or Corsair Neutron GTX 120GB. A cheaper alternative would also be the 120GB Samsung EVO.
As for GPU, same thing depends on the budget. A 760 is a real good start.

Thanks very much for the input. I added the Corsair GTX 120GB to my list. Whatever I don't get for Christmas I'll just get for my birthday in February lol.
