My nephew's desktop was sitting on a small table which he knocked on to the floor in the middle of the night. He put it on the table in the morning but when he went to turn it on the computer would power on but the OS would not boot up. I replaced the HD with a extra one i had laying around my house to see if that was the issue but it wasn't. Any ideas what could be causing this?

thx

Could be many things. In the best case scenario it is just that a component is lose (might be a stick of ram that is lose). Worst case scenario is that the mobo broke from the impact. Does the computer normally beeb once when it starts up (ie. does it have a speaker)? If so and it now beebs more often than it usually does, refere to your motherboards bios supplier.
