Best Laptop within My Budget?

I bought a great Asus laptop here in Europe for €640 - that's what in dollars? Less than $800 anyway. i5, decent enough Nvidia graphics card. I run some resource loving games and never had any problems. You should be able to get something good for $1000 with no problems.

it's over $900

And what model is the CPU and GPU?

Okay great, any specific recommendations?

For gaming you'd normally want a decent GPU - except for Minecraft, because it doesn't actually use the GPU. And I think it also only uses one core (two with the Optifine mod).

For other games, you would probably benefit from having a quad core CPU (I think the mobile i5's are all 2 cores + hyperthreading).

Minecraft doesn't use the GPU...are you sure!?!

Would you be able to recommend me another good laptop that's slightly cheaper than the $899 one you linked earlier? One that's from one of the following website would be great, but if not that's okay:

Cheers.

Yes, it's CPU rendering only.

I think first you'd need to work out what would be of importance to you as far as CPU, GPU, RAM etc go
What other games would you run on it?

Wow, that's news to me!

I think i5 is enough, I would ideally like 8GB of RAM. At the moment I am solely playing Minecraft, nothing else. However I guess I might want to play other games in the future such as Battlefield and Call of Duty. Basically I just want the best laptop that's under $900 with at least an i5 and 8GB of RAM.

Looks pretty bad.

From MSY, there is the HP Pavillion G6-2235TX
Quad core i7, and an HD7670M for $699
Probably the best CPU + GPU combination you'll get at that price
