GTX 670 or Radeon 280x?

Hi guys, my friend is building his first system and wants to get the Sapphire Radeon 280X, but I'm trying to pursuade him to get the GTX 670 since I'm biased and like Nvidia drivers way more.

So I thought I'd get a third soure for him, and ask you guys for oppinions on which you think he should get, and why?

He wants to stay around $300 for video cards and I think the 670 lands as the best card in that price range. Thanks

Nope, I prefer Nvidia drivers myself too, but the 280x is a superior card. It and the 770 trade blows, which you know is just a rebranded 680, which is much faster than the 670.
