Just a wild shot here , but you may want to take the back off the monitor and clean the dust out! it sounds to me like you may have an internal short on the chip that controls the display modes for your monitor! i Have seen this condition before and has been the cause of many TV's and Monitors. Dust is the one most major factor in Tv/monitor failures! But again just a wild shot in the dark ok?
