this is from www.newegg.com

and $41 (usd) aint bad for a 52x cd burner (thats including shipping)

my friend has an LG burner which isn't bad for quality, don't know about cost though; i will be going to a swap meet on Sunday so i guess I would put Samsung among the top of my "list" but i will just have to see if they sell them there

im sure

they will have samsung burners, a fwe othe good brands are tdk, verbatim, digital research, memorex, norcent, pioneer, plextor, and sony, thats all i can think of

I like my Sony, AOpen and Lite-On burners, but I've had nothing but trouble with my Samsung. So speaking from personal experience, I'd reccommend.. pretty much anything but Samsung :D

rofl

thanx for your support þÄ®âÐÖx, lmao j/k, i have never had a samsung, but i used to sell em @ Best Buy, and i never had any more complaints about em than any others (i NEVER had compaints about the sonys) ill see if ican find a cheap sony on newegg

not necessarily,.. but they may not be the best, but theyre good burners. i'd recommend sony, plextor and liteon

I have had HP, Iomega, Yamaha and now Cendyne. All seemed good drives save for the Iomega, which IMO was just trash.

well I want to get a burner with good reputation, what do you think are high quality: maybe put a list of best to least quality.

so far: Sony, LG, Pioneer, AOpen or Yamaha seem like good burners but i don't know what they are like in comparision with each other; I haven't heard much about Iomega, Cendyne, HP or Asus drives - Asus are about the same price as LiteOn

we got a 40 gig drive a bit less than a year ago now which is 7200 RPM so i will be able to burn @ 52x

well I got this Cendyne drive as it was on sale with rebates to be 9.99$ works great so far. It is a 48x24x48 drive.
