Title basically explains it, I was disconnecting a monitor while the computer was on and the DVI connecter got caught on the graphics card and I yanked it out.

I didn't have my graphics card secure and locked in place, so that's my bad.

I restarted my computer with fingers crossed and it booted up fine, so I assumed I was in the clear.

However, I noticed throughout the following days that there are loud noises coming from my tower. It sounds like the GPU fan running at triple speed and it is very loud. It happens periodically (sometimes every minute, sometimes not for 5 minutes), sometimes lasting 15s at a time of intense buzzing.

Any thoughts on what this did/ways to troubleshoot? What do?

I'm not very tech-savvy so please keep that in mind with your responses ^^

Well, you need to figure where the source of the noise is coming from.
Check to see if any cables are hitting any of the fans while the computer running (it's ok to have the side of the case open for a little while, while checking this).
