Memory advice for Asus Sabertooth X79 & I-7 3930

I need forum recommendations on good reliable memory sticks, 4x4 GB or 8x2 GB (don't sure which is better). Mostly PC will be using for games and some audio recording.
Don't know which clock 1866 or 2400 (O.C.) for motherboard will be better.
Can somebody share his experience with me?

4x4 would be better, and I don't think OC'ing your memory will do much for you.

Anything over 1600 is a serious waste of cash. 4x4 for quad channel.

Since I'm guessing you already bought the overpriced board and the chip here is my review of a 2133 64GB set. You can see that running 2133 over 1600 makes no difference in productivity and games. Although I was only allowed one game to use, I can tell you with experience that there isn't a game that takes advantage of more memory bandwidth. I'm currently running this kit at XMP2 which is 1600 1.5v on my 3960x, which is also stock. All benches done at 4.6GHz.
