its VGA problem, not monitor driver.

I agree it is a VGA problem, now that I have figured that out, but I have gone from bad to worse. Intrying to remove the incorrect driver (if that is even what I need to do) I removed C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\vmm32.vxd(vdd.vxd) and now guess what windows will not reboot, I get an error
VMM32.VXD is required to run windows if the file is not in your path you may need to reinstall windows


So am I screwed or what? I suppose the driver that I removed is in the recycle bin.

Try booting in safe mode (press F8 before the loading screen appears)
