Headphones plugged in, sound still comes out of speakers!

Hi, I use a Dell Inspiron E1505. I recently plugged in my headphones, and the sound played out of the speakers. I checked, and the sound was also coming out of the headphones. I looked it up, but nobody else seemed to have this problem on XP. Either that, or Microsoft took down some of their XP support pages. They WOULD do that. I also tried going into my system properties and changing it, but nothing happened. Does anyone know how to help?

Nevermind. I went to the settings, but there was only one choice available on each dropdown box. But I went to Advanced Audio Settings, and PC Spk Mute wasn't checked for some reason. Works fine now.
