I'm consistantly getting windows failed to start ever since I switched motherboards. However, I am still able to boot up in linux (from flash drive) and view all the files from the hard drive, so I think the drive is okay. Basically, when windows begins to load, it resets and tries to load again. Startup repair isn't of any use and all my system restore points fail. I tried to run CHKDSK but it only does 4Kb? (my drive is 1TB). Any help appreciated.

Same exact model of motherboard or a different one? That's most likely the issue.

Might have to reinstall Windows. What version of Windows are you running?

Windows 7 64-bit. And the motherboard is new. I will try to find to installation disc although I've been unsuccessful thus far :p

Switching motherboards that are not the same brand&model will often require a clean install. Sometimes you do not have too, but that might not be your case
