Found it! I put it too 60% fan speed... it's quite loud... would it be ok? i don't want to burn the fan out or anything if its already on its way out or something..

It's still doing it... temp is going all over the place was at 37, then 50, now its at 47.... idk whats wrong with it.

Is there a program i can use to UP the speed of the fan also? its only running at 21%

Would it be okay to still play WoW? just keep an eye on the temps? Whats a safe temp for this card? and my faulty problem...?

Have you tried re-pasting the GPU? You said you removed the cooler, so did you clean off the old paste and re-apply new thermal paste? That would help out a lot, IMO.

Speedfan is horrible, IMO. Not accurate at all and rarely displayed the correct values for me.

Where is it?

When you installed the drivers, hopefully you installed it along with it.

Right-click on your desktop and the first option should be "AMD Catalyst Control Center".

Yup, i re-applyed paste etc, cleaned it, its now at 31oC. Fan is at 50% normaly it's at 21%??? :s

Okay.... I just turned it off, cause it just started making a very WEIRD squeaky noise, as if something was sizzling or something with a squeak... :/ sigh.

I was going to ask that too, but unless he got the card and cash on top of it, I wasn't even going to touch that with a ten-ft. pole.

I had to ask, because I just went back to a 580 from a 5850. VAST difference. The 5870 isn't too far off from an overclocked 5850.

I traded it + I got cash too. And I wasn't gaming at the time. But then I started gaming again.... Lol
