GeForce4 MX440 install problems

I recently purchased GeForce 4 MX 440 128mb DDR AGP 8X

My motherboard is a Gigabyte 7DXE. AMD Athlon 1900+ CPU and 512Mb RAM.

When I insert the card, plug in the monitor and startup, my monitor goes to suspend mode after about 3 seconds of displaying nothing.

What am I doing wrong? How do I make it work?

The Voltage of the board is 1.6 - 1.7 Volts. I'm not sure what the card is. No beeps at startup... It seems everything but the monitor is working. All the components inside the case are wroking fine. Thanks for your help.

The monitor pins are intact. My previous card was a voodoo banshee which did work with the monitor but in an old motherboard. I tried to re-install the old card but had the same problem. I would check the bios but i can't get any visuals on the monitor.

concerning ur 8x card and ur 4x mb issue , that makes no problem i have the same issue and both are working fine ( but now that ur card will be working at half its throttle )

Try this :

1-Unplug and re-plug ur card then turn on ur pc.

2- Press over ur card softly ( even if u feel that is completely fit)

Just to let u know , i had similar problems , and i kept on pressing over my card , and un-re-plugging it , untill it worked,,,,,

and tell me wat happens...
