dell computer won't stay on

My dell dimension 2400 stays on for about 5 min. And goes off solid orange light comes on in front off computer. All 4 lights on back of ccomputer remain green any help greatly apreciated

9 times out of 10 if a dell isn't staying on its the motherboard. Check for bad capacitors. They will look like a coke can that you put in the freezer.

Everything looks fine. Someone told me to check power supply that also cheked out ok donmt know what to try next. Thanks

Secondly, how did you check that the PSU is not at fault?

Have you noticed any slight burning smell, or plastic-e smell over the past month or so? If you go close to the computer's parts does it smell a bit?
