Need help upgrading cpu and motherboard

Pretty much the best budget CPU you can buy in that area. Luckily for you, you don't really need to upgrade that B85 board we linked either because it can OC unless you absolutely want a Z87 board.

Whats the benefits of a z87 board compared to the one you link. Sorry for all the questions, just trying to make sure I get the most bang for the buck and that this build will last a couple years.

Well, in the Z77/prior days you needed a Z series board to overclock a K CPU. Now, you don't.

So really, all you are getting from a Z series board is more stuff. SATA3 ports, USB3 ports, more PCI/PCI-E slots, ect.

That particular ASRock board has 2 USB3 ports, a USB3 header for case USB3 ports, and 4 SATA3 slots. The only thing I could see needing *possibly* is 2 extra RAM slots from a higher up model. This particular B85 board has a PCI-E 1x slot in the right place for a wifi card so really, it's up to you whether you want to spend the extra money or not.

Okay I'm going to save up a little more money but here's the verdict

What I already have
GPU-Radeon HD 7850 1GB 256-bit
PSU-Seasonic x650
If i wanted to OC Would I need to buy a new heat sink or water cooling ect...Ive heard water cooling isnt that great of an idea

Water cooling is fantastic, but expensive. Custom loops that is.

Now the other option, is an AIOCLC. Or simply, a Corsair Hydro cooler. Something like an H80i is perfect if you have the money and want to OC. OCing a 4670k won't be necessary for a long while though.

What kind of fps would I be looking at with this set up? I know the GPU would be the lacking force here. What would this do on say civi 5 or metro last light at high or maybe ultra if possible?
