Monitor troubles

Can anyone help me? NOTE: I'm a noob so be kind
On my old computer, my monitor has a strange tinted dark look where the screen is darker than usual. I've tried messing with the brightness, gamma settings but none of them fixes the problem. Is it just that my monitor is too old and I need a new one or can it be fixed?

Some drivers of video cards allow you to mess around with the colors for the display. Look to see if you have that option. Other wise what is your monitor and video card?

Um, it might be your video card or monitor. Try to hook up a another monitor to that comp and see what happens, if it is the same then its your video card and if it is not then its your monitor. My friend had the same problem but then he just changed the monitor and everything as ok.

Well, it's VERY old so it has an integrated card. A SIS530 I think (yeah I know, but I use it mainly for documents and such so I'm in no real rush to get a replacement one)

its probably the monitor. i dont think you have many options here. goto ebay and buy a new one.
