put the 8800 gts in another pc to confirm it it's still good
PC shut down under load and will not start properly, please help

I was able to wrangle my wife's PC to the basement. She just has onboard graphics, but a PCI-E slot that I was able to use. Result was both 8800 and 285 GTX are corrupted. I used her PC's 500W PSU which is a shy too low for the 285, but it still worked.
So different PC, including PSU, and the VGA cards are corrupt.

I spoke with EVGA customer service and they're going to RMA the card. The reps were very helpful with my multiple emails and phone calls. I have bought 3 EVGA cards because of their reputation and I am not disappointed.
