PCI-e network card bottleneck

So my internet service was recently upgraded to 50/5 but my desktop only gets around 17/5 on the wifi. Could my wireless card be bottle necking my speeds?

I used my laptop hard-lined to the router and got 50/5 so it's not the router, I don't think.

Yes, you're Wifi-G card only gives you an average throughput of about 22mbps.

Upgrade it to an N card, and you'll be fine.

To be more specific, an N 300 card. You have to consider speed drops because 50Mb internet gives a theoretical download speed of 6.25MB/s and a 150N card can drop far enough to not attain those download speed.

Do you have any suggestions on a model I should get? I'm looking for a pci-e card preferably, and below $40.
