Building a NAS

Hi,

I have decided its time to look into getting a NAS for all my files. Would I be right in assuming a NAS would be more efficient than leaving a server on 24/7?

Can anyone recommend some brands worth looking at that are reliable?

Both are one in the same. The NAS is just a smaller box with less functionality meant specifically for sharing files rather than a file server that can serve many different purposes. QNAP make a good selection but they are rather pricey.
