Computer runs and then just turns off , it will turn back on but the more I turn it on it faster it shuts off. I was thinking the fan on the processor or psu. Tried everything else, help if you can.

what's the pc specs?

is there a bios update available?

I think i would focus on the psu first. Possibly the bios has some sensor to turn off the machine; usually temp threshold.

No bios update and no threshold shutoff. If I replace the psu and it still does it what would it be?

Its just a emachine from walmart but I have spare parts around to fix it

Open it up and check the fan on the CPU as well as the fan on the PSU. Either one could cause this but the CPU would generate a thermal message in the event log.

I had a dead PSU fan on my HTPC that would shut it down, but the fan would kick in now and then. Took me a while to figure it out.
