No, you cannot put a 754 CPU in a 939 motherboard.
The 3500+ will be a big difference compared to 3000+, esspecially because the 939 3500+ can run dual channel.

They make a socket 939 Athlon 64 3000+ - get it here- http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=19-103-499&depa=1 It features the New Winchster core which is better than the newcastle. You will have to flash the bios on that mobo before you can use it though. Here is a good heatsink for it also since it doesn't come with one- http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=35-106-036&depa=1 .

Also if you get this Sapphire Radeon 9800 pro card you will save alot of money- http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=14-102-268&depa=1
The other one is an All-In-Wonder and it comes with alot of un-needed stuff imo.

sub in a socket 939 amd 64 3200 for 200 on new egg and a nvidia 6800 for under 300 and you should be great. i would take the 6800 over the 9800 for sure, you are over paying for that 9800 imo.

The 6800 128MB would be in his price range, but honestly, I would look into the 6600GT 256MB. It way outperforms the 9800 Pro, and is cheaper than what you are looking at for the 9800.

Well im gettin a Combo drive but i also need a 2nd drive so i can copy games and such. and why would i need a USB pin drive. instead of a Floppy drive?

you wouldnt need two DVD drives. the writer does the same thing as the regular. plus if you want to burn games that badly then get a cheap cd burner.

gettin a Cheap DVD rom or get a Cheap CD RW whats the difference? lol. the DVD+RW copy's CD's too.
