Sounds like the keyboard going out.
My keyboard has Cherry Blue switches, the classical mechanical switches most know and love. CM has just released a Cherry Green version; Green switches take an extra 30 grams of pressure to activate, giving them a stiffer feel. To me that would make for better gaming but not so much for everyday typing.
