Those two together will give you more of a total boost over getting just a 2500k. Then when you add a CPU on to that you'll have rather decent gaming performance.

One more thing, if your doing a video card, it might be a good idea to double check that your computer has a rear case fan installed. For some reason Lenovo Desktops over the recent years do not always come with an added exhaust fan. it will just help keep your computer cool while you game on it.

Other then that your system will be way faster with those upgrades!

my PC has a fairly large fan on the back which i guess is the exhaust fan, thank you for your help
