Home Server OS with Virtual Machines

Hey,

Hope this is the right place to post. I need your suggestions on the best setup for my server.

I am wanting a secure/stable setup as I will not be where the server is located for 4-6 weeks at a time.

I was thinking Windows Server 2012 with 3 virtual machines of Windows Professional as I have 3 users that will be connecting to the virtual machines.

This is my setup:

- FX-8320 Processor 3.5GHz w/ 16MB Cache comes with Asus M5A99X EVO R2.0 Motherboard
- HyperX 10th Anniversary Edition 16GB DDR3-1600MHz CL9 Dual Channel Kit (2 x 8GB)
- Corsair Professional Series HX650 Modular Power Supply
- WD 1TB Red SATA III w/ 64MB Cache
- Arctic Cooling Silentium T11 Mid Tower Case, Black
- EAH6450 Silent Radeon HD 6450 1GB DDR3 PCI-E w/ DVI, HDMI
- BenQ GL2450HM 24in Widescreen LED LCD w/ HDMI, Speakers
- APC Back-UPS ES 550VA w/ 8 Outlet
- GigaExpress 10/100/1000Mbps PCI Gigabit Ethernet Adapter
- Neutron Series GTX SATA III Solid State Drive, 120GB
- Neutron Series GTX SATA III Solid State Drive, 120GB

Thought you suggested to make a new thread regarding Virtual Machine setup with a domain login so the virtual machines act as a cloud?
