I'm taking it with a grain of salt, while I do more reading, but *if* this is true... there are not to many out there... I know I would probably never use the low power state, but now it's the opposite problem... TOO much power.

It's true, but hardly a hand full of people on here will care about it. Current C state packages already readuce power to real low levels on IB and SB for idle and low use situations. C7 is trying to bring the most reduced power usage scenario in which a 0.05a load will come from the PSU. Thing is, if you have a high powered GPU it can only go so low meaning your total minimum usage depends on the power savings of your graphics card in its 2D/Idle state.

In other words, very moot for 99% users around the world. I was happy with my old 3960x consuming only 15w during normal conditions which is better than my i5 is doing right now. This will mean great deals for mobile solutions though.
