I got a WD 160 GB HDD. I have Maxtor 60 GB HDD in my computer already. However, my Abit AA8-Duramax has only 1 IDE controller and 4 x SATA. If I disconnect the CD drive and install the WD HDD, can I copy everything from the MAXtor to the WD? Will Windows work when I take out the Maxtor?

Yes, you can copy everything from your old drive to your new drive including windows. You can download some partition copy utility or use imaging software to make an image of your old drive.

It won't work if u just copy the file with windows. U need a third part utility.
