I have the same PSU seems to be working fine now
I made mention several times that a cheap PSU can give out at any time, or undervolt your stuff from the time you install it. An undervolted machine takes a while to show the damage, but when it does there isn't any going back. I've also mentioned not using low quality PSUs several times in my article for this reason. It's the #1 thing you put money in to.

We're worried about longevity here. (IIRC you built your computer recently. We're talking about years down the road)

A blown PSU has a chance of taking out an entire computer and it isn't something that should be skimped on. Antec and Corsair have proven track records (In fact, I have two Antec and one Corsair. The antec is over five years old now!)
My Ultra X2 is from 2006 and works good still. That was before they swapped the internals and made them a pile of ****.

Good stuff. Even though the Seasonic 520 would have been good too.
